Course Outline

Active military personnel who have been stationed in Wyoming for at least 90 days are considered residents as long as they remain stationed in Wyoming. This includes a service member’s spouse and any minor children also.

Any Wyoming resident, including the person’s spouse and any minor children, who enters the U.S. Armed Forces keeps his or her residency status if he or she:

  • Was a resident of Wyoming when he or she entered the military and…
  • Keeps Wyoming as his or her declared Home of Record and…
  • Is on active duty and…
  • Does not claim residency elsewhere.

Other military personnel may retain Wyoming residency if they:

  • Establish residency by being domiciled in Wyoming for at least one year and…
  • Change their Home of Record to Wyoming and…
  • Do not claim residency in any other state except to receive military hunting or fishing privileges that may be allowed in that state.
