Transcript for Treestand Safety Safe Descent Intro

Amber: You just saw the proper process for climbing into a tree stand. Now, let’s watch the proper process for climbing down. Let’s check in with our hunter as he has now finished his hunt.

First, he makes his firearm safe. He then secures his firearm with the haul line and carefully lowers it to the ground.

Next, he gets up, turns around, and slowly disconnects his tether from the tree. After his fall-arrest system has been disconnected, he raises the safety bar. Our hunter then turns around to get into the correct descent position and slowly climbs down. Notice he is careful to maintain three points of contact with the ladder at all times.

Next, he removes his haul line from his firearm. He makes sure that his firearm is safe and free from any obstructions.
