Course Outline

Road hunting is a form of hunting when a hunter remains in a motor vehicle or OHV and drives around looking for game.

It is not illegal to drive on existing open roads and look for game, but what comes after spotting game is where the hunter needs to make smart decisions.

Always consider where you are driving and make sure you remain on existing roads and are not in a closed area. When spotting game from a vehicle you cannot shoot from the vehicle or on or across a roadway. You must safely exit the vehicle and step off of the roadway. Arizona does not define a specific distance from the road like other states, you must be completely off of the road.

From a safety standpoint, you should not have loaded firearms in the vehicle to prevent accidental discharges.
