Course Outline

We are all aware that a safety mechanism is a mechanical device that is subject to failure. Even so, you should ALWAYS use safety devices in the field as an additional protective mechanism. In case a hunter violates one of the basic safety principles, a properly operating safety device can prevent disaster. If a hunter is following all safety rules (T.A.B. +1) the safety mechanism should only have to act as a secondary safety device.

Be aware that many high-end guns, those mainly designed for competitive shooting activities, and many very old guns do not have traditional—or any—safety devices, reinforcing the need to ensure compliance with T.A.B.+1.
