Pair of hunters glassing for javelina from a rock outcropping

It’s no secret that applying for and waiting on an Arizona big game permit for bull elk, bighorn sheep, buck pronghorn and certain buck deer units is a considerable investment in time and money. There simply aren’t enough permits to be awarded to meet the very high demand for these species.

While acknowledging that reality, the savvy hunter can make an investment in scouting, learn about Arizona’s hunt units and road systems, test out hunting optics and gear as well as camping equipment, while taking advantage of other hunt opportunities the state has to offer.

You’ve paid for a hunting license in order to apply for the draw and secure a Bonus Point for future draws, so why not use it?

Rather than file away your license each year, come out and experience Arizona’s other hunt opportunities and learn details about the units that interest you for future big game hunts. All these opportunities are detailed in the AZGFD Hunting Regulations and species-specific Hunt Draw Information publications available online at azgfd.gov and at license retailers around the state.
