Course Outline

With the changing demographics of Arizona and the often muddled public perception of hunting, it can become critical that your Congressional representatives understand the value you place on hunting, outdoor recreation and wildlife conservation. Although AZGFD is a self-funded agency, we rely on the continuation of funding mechanisms such as the State Heritage Fund and the federal Pittman-Robertson Act.

The Commission determines the causes our Legislative Affairs branch pushes forth to the state Legislature as well as revising Rule and determining hunt orders. The Commission seeks public input and comment during each of these periods. This is your chance to let the Commission know your opinions. Tune into the Commission meetings to stay up-to-date with the state of the Agency. Every Commission meeting is live streamed online so that anyone can watch.

During the Arizona State Legislative season, our Legislative Affairs Branch posts weekly updates to our website. Tune in here for current information concerning congressional and state legislation that has potential consequence to the Department’s ability to manage the state’s wildlife and wildlife resources.
