Breeding Period: Summer typically mid-June to July

Distribution: In Arizona, Black Bears can be found most commonly in the north and eastern half of the state in areas with elevations of 4,000–10,000 ft

Habitat: Most woodland habitats such as chaparral pine forests and aspen-fir pine forests

Food Preference: Omnivorous- foods may include grasses, roots, berries, insects, fish, and other mammals, including young deer, elk, or livestock

Live Weight: Males: 400lbs.; Females: 250lbs.

Predators: Mountain lions, Mexican wolves, other black bears, and humans
