In Pennsylvania, first-time hunters and trappers must complete Basic Hunter-Trapper Education before purchasing a hunting or trapping license. The Hunter-Ed online course is available to Pennsylvania residents age 16 and older. Students ages 11–15 have other approved options, including the interactive ilearntohunt course and PGC’s in-person course. Pennsylvania also offers a Mentored Hunting Program that allows qualifying first-time hunters to hunt with a mentor before completing hunter education.
