After This Course

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be mailed a permanent Trapper Education Certificate. You must present this certificate at any Ohio Department of Natural Resources office to purchase your trapping license.

The Ohio Today's Trapper Course is approved and accepted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Is my Ohio Trapper Education Certification Card accepted elsewhere?

Some U.S. states, provinces, and other countries that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept the Ohio Trapper Education Certificate. (This is known as “reciprocity.”) Students are advised to check with their state or the state where they will be trapping to ensure acceptance and that all trapper education requirements are met.

Quizzes and/or Exams

I failed a unit quiz. Have I failed the course?

If you fail a unit quiz, you must restudy the unit and take the quiz again until you pass. You must score at least 80% on the unit quizzes to pass.

Do I have to take an online exam?

The Final Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 70% on the exam to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the exam. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry. When you log in later, you will be taken to the first unanswered question of the exam.

Once you pay for and pass the online course, you will be able to immediately print out the Trapper Education Certificate. This is your proof of online course completion. You can print the Trapper Education Certificate right then and/or request that a PDF be emailed to you.

What is the permanent Ohio Trapper Education Certificate?

The Ohio Trapper Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the education requirements and allows you to legally purchase a trapping license in Ohio.

Replacement of Lost or Damaged Documents

How do I replace my permanent card or certificate if I’ve lost it or it has been damaged?

To replace a lost or destroyed Ohio Trapper Education Certificate, log in to the course and print a new one.
