Amber: If you chose “All of the above,” you are correct. Our hunter violated many rules when approaching and entering a tree stand. First, you should have seen that our hunter was using an unsafe carry position with his muzzle pointed into his hand. Next, the hunter moved the haul line out of the way instead of using it. He also never unloaded his firearm. Since he was holding his firearm, he failed to make three points of contact while climbing the tree stand. Lastly, our hunter was not wearing a fall-arrest system and, therefore, did not attach himself to the tree with the tether strap. You may have also noticed that he did not put the safety bar down as an additional safety measure.
