There is no minimum age requirement to take this online course.
You do not have to be a resident of Utah to take this online course.
Do you need Utah education?
If you were born after December 31, 1984, you must provide proof that you’ve passed a furharvester education course and an Instructor-Led Field Day that is approved by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources before you can obtain a furbearer license, a bobcat permit, or a marten permit.

How much does the Utah Today's Trapper Course cost?
The Utah Today's Trapper Course fee is $34.50.
Do I have to take an online exam?
The Online Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 80% on the Online Exam to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the Online Exam. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry. When you log in later, you will be taken to the first unanswered question of the exam.
After Passing the Course
After successfully completing this course, you also must complete the Field Day. For more information about the Field Day, go to http://wildlife.utah.gov/hunter-education/62-hunting/hunter-ed/487-hunter-education-furharvester-course-online.html.
After successfully completing the Field Day, you will receive a Trapper Education Certification Card and patch from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources by mail. The Trapper Education Certification Card allows you to legally purchase a furbearer permit and apply for bobcat and martin permits. You can purchase a furbearer permit at any Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Office, license vender, or online.
