In addition to the regulations that apply to checking in other big game, you also must meet these requirements for bears.

  • Bears must be checked in at an official checking station. You may not use the TWRA website or the TWRA mobile application to check in a bear.
  • Bears may be kept whole or field dressed. However, they must weigh at least 75 pounds when they are checked in.
  • You must keep the reproductive sex organs attached to each harvested bear until the bear has been checked in at an official checking station.
