Do I Need Hunter Education in Colorado?

In Colorado, anyone born on or after January 1, 1949, must complete hunter education before hunting or applying for or purchasing a hunting license unless an applicable CPW alternative applies. Students using the online certification path must complete both the online course and required in-person Conclusion Class.

Who needs hunter education in Colorado?

While there is no final exam during the Hunter-Ed online course, you must successfully complete the required Conclusion Class, which includes a written test and live-fire exercise to complete the requirements for certification.

What do I receive after completing the online course?

After successfully completing and paying for the online course, you can immediately print your Conclusion Class Voucher or have a PDF emailed to you. This is your proof of online course completion and is valid for 120 days.

When will I receive my permanent Colorado Hunter Education Certificate?

Your permanent Hunter Education Certificate will arrive within 2–3 weeks after you successfully complete all certification requirements, including the Conclusion Class.

Does my Colorado Hunter Education Certificate expire?

No. Your Colorado hunter education certification is valid for life.
