Set Requirements for Snares

When set, snares must be:

• Anchored firmly to the ground or to an immovable location.
• Set so that the loop is submerged or partially submerged in water.
• Maintained in good condition so that all components operate properly.
• Visited by the trapper at no longer than a 36-hour interval, and all captured animals removed from the set.
• Located 15 feet or more from an established beaver dam or house.
• Removed from an area when abandoned or when the season closes.
