Replacing Components

Most cable device components can be reused after an animal has been captured.

• The exceptions are crimped-on components, such as ferrules, stops, and breakaway devices, after an animal has pulled free from the set. Used breakaway devices should be replaced rather than reused.
• Other components, such as springs, swivels, locks, and anchors, often can be used multiple times, saving on the cost of the cable device over time.
