There are a number of potential set locations that constrict the movements of target furbearers. These sites should be identified and prepared in the pre-season to ensure that they will:

  • Focus furbearer activity into the set and…
  • Give local animals sufficient time to get used to any changes that the trapper might make, such as the construction of brush fences or the removal of sources of entanglement.
