Course Outline

The area where you are allowed to hunt depends on the species being hunted and whether you are on private land or public land.

  • In Nebraska, over 95% of all land is privately owned. You may hunt on private lands during legal hunting seasons only if you have permission from the landowner to hunt on his or her land.
  • To hunt on public lands, refer to the Nebraska Hunting Guide for maps and specific information by species.
  • Unless posted otherwise, you may not hunt in:
    • Hatcheries
    • Nebraska wayside areas
    • State and federal refuges
    • Wildlife reserves
  • Unit 13 of 13
  • Topic 3 of 7
