Course Outline

Lead poisoning causes sickness and death in scavengers. However, the exact amount of lead that causes lead poisoning is not yet known. It is specific to each incident and depends on several factors, such as:

  • Fragment size
  • Fragment number
  • The kind of animal that consumes lead

All of the above factors play a role in determining what becomes enough lead to make an animal sick.
