Course Outline

Higher temperatures tend to dry and warm fuels, making them easier to ignite. Heavy fuels burn hotter and faster during hot weather. Fine fuels become flashy and sometimes exceedingly difficult to control at higher temperatures. Generally, when temperatures go up, relative humidity goes down, which further increases flammability by lowering fuel moisture.
