Course Outline

Individual dots of fire are set to burn together before developing their own head, flank or backing fire.

  • Purpose
    • Used to mitigate heat production and when scorch height is a concern
    • There are several patterns which can be employed depending upon the objective
  • Advantages
    • Fast, flexible
    • Excellent control over intensity through timing and spacing of dots. Intensities greatest where flaming fronts converge
  • Disadvantages
    • Requires access to all or most of unit
    • May require more personnel
