Course Outline

A general description of the burn unit includes acres to be burned, past prescribed fire history, plant cover type and fuel loading. It may include topographic information such as slope and aspect of the area. A physical address, legal description and latitude/longitude should be included for notifying public safety agencies and in the event assistance is needed in controlling an escaped fire.
