1. Study & Pass the Online Course

   After passing the New Mexico Hunter Safety Course, you’ll pay the $24.50 course fee and immediately print out your Field Day Qualifier Voucher, which you will need for the Field Day.

2. Sign Up and Attend the Required Field Day

   To complete the hunter education requirements for New Mexico, you must attend the Field Day portion of the Hunter Ed Safety Course. Learn more about the Field Day.

3. Receive Your New Mexico Hunter Education Certificate

   After successfully completing the Field Day, your permanent New Mexico Hunter Education Certificate will be issued to you by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.

This official training program is developed to meet the standards for hunter training established by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).

Read each chapter. The chapters are organized to form building blocks of information. Each chapter will help you understand the information in the next chapters.

This official training program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be a safe and responsible hunter in New Mexico.

Pass the 9 Unit Quizzes

As you progress through the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate how well you’re understanding the hunter safety topics by taking a quiz at the end of each unit (chapter).

You’ll need to score 80% or greater on the unit quiz before moving on to the next unit.

If you don’t pass a unit quiz, that’s no problem. You can study until you feel you are ready to take the quiz again.

The Field Day Qualifier Voucher

After passing all the unit quizzes with a score of 80% or greater you will have demonstrated successful mastery of the classroom portion of the New Mexico hunter safety course material, you will receive your Field Day Qualifier Voucher.

You will bring your Field Day Qualifier Voucher to the Field Day as proof of having completed and passed the online course.
