Who Needs Hunter Education?
State Law Anyone 10 to 13 years of age must have a valid Arizona Hunter Education Certificate (10 is the minimum age to hunt big game).

After passing the Arizona Hunter Safety Course, you’ll pay the $15.00 course fee and immediately print out your Field Day Qualification Exam Certificate, which you will need for the Field Day.

To complete the hunter education requirements for Arizona, you must attend the Field Day portion of the Hunter Ed Safety Course. Learn more about the Field Day.

This official training program is developed to meet the standards for hunter training established by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).
Read each chapter. The chapters are organized to form building blocks of information. Each chapter will help you understand the information in the next chapters.
This official training program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be a safe and responsible hunter in Arizona.
Pass the 9 Unit Quizzes
As you progress through the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate how well you’re understanding the hunter safety topics by taking a quiz at the end of each unit (chapter).
You’ll need to score 80% or greater on the unit quiz before moving on to the next unit.
If you don’t pass a unit quiz, that’s no problem. You can study until you feel you are ready to take the quiz again.
Pass the Final Exam
After completing all units, you’ll have the choice to proceed directly to the online Field Day Qualification Exam, or you may first take a practice exam.
Both the practice exam and the Field Day Qualification Exam cover all the course material and will assess your knowledge of hunting safely in Arizona.
You must score 80% or greater on the final exam to pass. If you fail the final exam, don’t worry; you have 2 attempts to pass the final.
After Passing the Online Course…
After passing the online course, you are required to attend the Arizona Game and Fish Department Field Day to complete your hunter education certification.
