1. Study the Online Course Material

   Read each chapter in preparation for the Final Exam. Completing this course will complete your Indiana Department of Natural Resources Hunter Education requirement.

   Age Requirement You must be at least 12 years old to take the online course.

   Residential Requirement You must be a resident of Indiana to take the online course.

2. Take the Online Final Exam

   Once you’ve completed all the chapters in the course, you’ll be ready to take the Indiana Hunter’s Ed Course Final Exam.

3. Receive Your Indiana Hunter Education Certificate

   After passing the Indiana Hunter Safety Course, you'll pay the $19.50 course fee and immediately print out your temporary Hunter Education Certificate. You will receive your permanent Hunter Education Certificate in the mail.

Study the Course Content

This official training program is developed to meet the standards for hunter training established by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).

Read each chapter. The chapters are organized to form building blocks of information. Each chapter will help you understand the information in the next chapters.

This official training program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be a safe and responsible hunter in Indiana.

Pass the 9 Unit Quizzes

As you progress through the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate how well you’re understanding the hunter safety topics by taking a quiz at the end of each unit (chapter).

You’ll need to score 80% or greater on the unit quiz before moving on to the next unit.

If you don’t pass a unit quiz, that’s no problem. You can study until you feel you are ready to take the quiz again.

Pass the Final Exam

After completing all units, you’ll have the choice to proceed directly to the online Final Exam, or you may first take a practice exam.

Both the practice exam and the Final Exam cover all the course material and will assess your knowledge of hunting safely in Indiana.

You must score 80% or greater on the final exam to pass. If you fail the final exam, don’t worry; you have unlimited attempts to pass the final.
