Pay $24.50—one time only, after you pass. When you pass, immediately print out a Field Day Voucher and sign up for the state-required Field Day to complete your hunter education certification.

Who Needs Iowa Hunter Education?

Anyone born after January 1, 1972 must be certified in hunter education before they are eligible to purchase an Iowa hunting license.

About Field Day Registration

Your Field Day Voucher will be valid for one year from the date issued.

Iowa DNR Field Days for the online course are offered outside of hunting seasons. Go to the Iowa DNR website, then choose your district or county and view course results. Bookmark this page for future searches as the website updates frequently.

You can also use the Iowa DNR website to search for classes. Iowa DNR's training registration and tracking system lets you sign up on a watch list for a one-time automatic notification to be sent to you for the type of course you wish to take.
