Trapping is prohibited within 30 feet of a visible carcass on public land to prevent attracting and capturing eagles and other scavenging birds, which may remain active and feed on carcasses throughout the trapping season. Bait is defined as the meat or viscera of a mammal, bird, or fish, or any part thereof, more than one pound in weight. Bleached bones are excluded.
