Transcript for HLSP Video 5

Lauren Karnopp, Montana FWP: In this course, you learned and reviewed the importance of firearm safety, the considerations for hunting on private land, and the critical importance of taking responsibility for your actions. All the topics we’ve covered can and should inform your personal hunting ethics or the moral principles that help you distinguish between right and wrong.

Was it right to shoot that skyline elk or that deer on a property boundary? These in-the-moment decisions are up to you, but the implications of your decisions are much farther reaching. Your actions impact not only your safety, but the safety, property, and livelihoods of those around you. Your actions impact the future of hunting for all hunters. Be prepared. Be respectful. And make the right choice, even when no one’s watching.

Remember, it’s up to us. Respect access. Protect the hunt.
