Only those ages 11 to 17 are required to attend an Iowa Field Day.
If you are 11 to 17 years of age, in order to complete the Iowa hunter education requirements, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the hunter education course.

Locating and Signing Up for the Field Day
After passing the online portion of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Field Day.
To locate and sign up for the Field Day in your area, go to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website at www.register-ed.com.
Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Field Day.
What To Expect at the Field Day
At the Field Day, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and Iowa’s Hunter Education Certification exam.
Important Bring your Hunter Education Certificate to the Field Day as proof of having completed the online course.
After attending and passing the Field Day portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Iowa Hunter Education Certificate at the Field Day.

- If you are 11 to 17 years of age, the Iowa Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Hunter Education Certificate at the Field Day to gain admittance.
- Iowa Hunter Education Certificate
The Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of Iowa.
If you are 11 to 17 years of age, you will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources after successfully completing the Field Day at the conclusion of the Field Day event.
If you are 18 years of age or older, after passing the online Iowa Adult Hunter Certification Exam, you'll immediately print out your temporary Hunter Education Certificate (valid for 90 days). Your permanent Hunter Education Certificate will be mailed to you in 2-3 weeks.
If you are 11 to 17 years of age and received your permanent Iowa Hunter Education Certificate at the Field Day, you can contact the state to get a replacement certificate by calling the Iowa DNR at 1-515-281-5918 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time.
If you are 18 years of age or older and received your permanent Iowa Hunter Education Certificate in the mail, you can order a replacement certificate at ilostmycard.com.
To replace a lost or destroyed Field Day Voucher or temporary Hunter Education Certificate, log in to the course and print a new one.
