Hunters 12-15 years old need either hunter education certification or the direct supervision of a licensed hunter who is at least 18 years old.
Why Hunting Safety Education Is Important
Since states have begun requiring hunter education, over the last 30 years hunting incidents have drastically decreased, while the number of hunters has increased. Today, hunting is one of the safest outdoor activities you can enjoy.
All U.S. states, provinces, and countries that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept the Hunter Education Certificate. Likewise, Georgia will accept Hunter Education certifications that are issued by other jurisdictions that meet official IHEA requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)
