Locating and Signing Up for the Hunter Internet Field Day

If you are 18 years of age or older, you may choose Wisconsin’s test-out option instead of attending an Hunter Internet Field Day after passing the online course. To locate a test-out session, go to the Wisconsin DNR website and select “Hunter Adult Only” as your class type.

If you are under 18 years of age you must attend and pass the Hunter Internet Field Day to complete your hunter education certification. To locate and sign up for the Hunter Internet Field Day in your area, go to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website at https://gowild.wi.gov/customers/safetyedclass.

Important! Bring your Hunter Internet Field Day Online Course Completion Voucher to the Hunter Internet Field Day as proof of having completed the online course.

Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Hunter Internet Field Day.

What to Expect at the Hunter Internet Field Day

This is 4–6 hours, depending on the number of students attending and will include:

  • A classroom session
  • Outdoor shooting
  • Blood trailing
  • Demonstrations of tree stand safety
  • Survival skills

Most of the classroom topics will pertain to Wisconsin-specific regulations and issues that are not covered in this online course. Be sure to have proper clothing for the outdoor sessions.

After attending and passing the Hunter Internet Field Day portion of the Hunting education requirement, you will receive your Hunter Education Safety Certificate.

This course is open to students regardless of age. After completing the online portion of the course, students must attend an in-person Hunter Internet Field Day to be certified.
