You must pass both the online and Hunter Education Skills Session portions of the Hunting education course in order to complete the Missouri Hunting education requirements.

Locating and Signing Up for the Hunter Education Skills Session

After passing the online portion of the Missouri Department of Conservation Hunting education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Hunter Education Skills Session.

Students must be at least 11 years old to register for a Hunter Education Skills Session. Locate and sign up for the Hunter Education Skills Session in your area.

Important! Bring your Hunter Education Skills Session Qualifier Certificate to the Hunter Education Skills Session as proof of having completed the online course.

Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Hunter Education Skills Session.

What To Expect at the Hunter Education Skills Session

This is 4–6 hours, depending on the amount of students attending and will include:

  • a classroom session
  • outdoor shooting
  • blood trailing
  • demonstrations of tree stand safety
  • survival skills

Most of the classroom topics will pertain to Missouri-specific regulations and issues that are not covered in this online course. Be sure to have proper clothing for the outdoor sessions.

After attending and passing the Hunter Education Skills Session portion of the Hunting education requirement, you will receive your Conservation Heritage Card.
