Using Bodygrip Traps on Land

In many states, it is illegal to use large bodygrip traps on land. Smaller bodygrip traps may be legal. If so, they must be used very carefully to prevent the capture or death of pets and other non-target animals.

• Adjust the trigger in a way that will trap the target animal but let non-target animals go through unharmed.
• Enclose the trap in a wooden box or plastic bucket. Ask your instructor or local game warden for details on box or bucket sets. Always choose sets that are safe, legal, and effective for use in your area.
• Use the bodygrip trap in blind sets, pole sets, or cubby sets as required by state regulations.
