Prior to the rule changes, only nongame mammals such as jackrabbits, rock squirrels, and rodents could be used as bait.

Now, in addition to nongame mammals, the inedible portions of small game, big game and game fish may be used as bait.

Remember, feathers or any other part of game and nongame birds are prohibited by statute and may not be used as bait.
