The area where you are allowed to hunt depends on the species being hunted and whether you are on public lands or private property.

If you plan to hunt in Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) or on other public lands, visit the VDGIF website for current maps as well as information and regulations for specific areas. Note that certain lands, such as national and state forests, will also require you to have special permits.
