Tennessee Field Day

Only those ages 9 to 20 are required to attend a Tennessee Field Day.

If you are 9 to 20 years of age, in order to complete the Tennessee hunter education requirements, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the hunter education course.

Locating and Signing Up for the Field Day

After passing the online portion of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Field Day.

Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Field Day.

What To Expect at the Field Day

At the Field Day, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: a presentation on ethics and regulations, a hunter skills trail, a live-fire exercise, and a written exam.

Important Bring your Field Day Qualifier Voucher to the Field Day as proof of having completed the online course.

After attending and passing the Field Day portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Tennessee Hunter Education Card.

Field Day Voucher
If you are 9 to 20 years of age, the Field Day Qualifier Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Field Day Qualifier Voucher at the Field Day to gain admittance.

If you are 21 years of age or older, the Field Day Qualifier Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students MUST apply for the TWRA field day exemption type 013 permit in order to be legally certified.
Tennessee Hunter Education Card

The Hunter Education Card is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can purchase a license to legally hunt in the state of Tennessee.

If you are 9 to 20 years of age, you will receive your Hunter Education Card from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency after successfully completing the Field Day.

If you are 21 years of age or older, after passing the online Final Exam, you’ll immediately print out your Tennessee Field Day Qualifier Voucher (valid for 365 days). Then you MUST apply for the TWRA field day exemption type 013 permit in order to be legally certified. After you apply for the TWRA permit, your permanent Hunter Education Card will be mailed to you by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Replacement

For a lost or destroyed Tennessee Hunter Education Card, you can request a replacement on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Duplicate Card Request page.

If you are 9 to 20 years of age and need to replace a lost or destroyed Field Day Qualifier Voucher, log in to the course and print a new one.

If you are 21 years of age or older and need to replace your Tennessee Online Component Completion Certificate, log in to the course and print a new one.
