Transcript for How to Attach Your Hunting Platform and Tether
Jared Shaffer: To install my platform, I’m simply going to run my webbing strap around the tree. In this case, my stick is going to serve as an extra step on my weak side, but it can also be set up on your strong side, depending on the setup.
So, I’m going to tighten my strap here, and I’m setting my platform 90 degrees from my step right here. And it’s also going to be level, so it’s going to be an extra step if I would need to maneuver around the tree.
So, once I cam that over, I’m going to step up, and then I’m going to install my tether. To install your tether, run your spliced eye around the tree, and then pass the loose end of the rope and the carabiner through that spliced eye and then tighten it down. Before I get on the platform, I’m going to pull out my bridge and connect and lock the carabiner on my tether. And then I’m going to transition onto the platform.
Now that I’m safely hooked into my tether with the carabiner locked, I’m going to loosen up my lineman’s rope and remove it and store it in my left side pocket on my saddle.
