Retrieving Your Sporting Arm With a Haul Line

Once you are secured by your tether and are supported safely on your hunting platform, you are ready to hunt and retrieve your sporting arm. Your sporting arm should be easily accessible on the ground next to the tree’s base and attached to a haul line for easy retrieval.

1. Free your haul line from where you have secured it during ascent on your saddle or pack.
2. Keep your eyes always on your sporting arm as you haul it through the air in case of an accident with your line or sporting arm.
3. Slowly pull your sporting arm up to your platform.
4. Once your sporting arm has reached your hunting height, be sure to grab it by the stock or limb.
5. Untie the haul line from your sporting arm before shooting and store it away for use later to lower the sporting arm back to the ground before you begin your descent.
