Moving Past Obstructions
If you need to navigate past any branches in the way of your lineman belt during your climb, carefully follow these steps.
- Without disconnecting your lineman belt from the tree, you must set up a second connection to the tree for support while moving past the branch. Securely attach your tether above the branch.
- Once all of your weight is supported by the tether, unclip one side of your lineman belt and pass it over the branch.
- Wrap the lineman belt back around the tree trunk and secure it back onto your lineman loop with the carabiner. Make sure to secure the crew gate on the carabiner.
- Once your lineman belt is safely navigated around the branch and reconnected to your saddle, you can remove your tether and continue climbing the tree following normal climbing procedures.
- Repeat all of these steps again if you encounter another branch in your way before reaching your desired hunting height.
