Course Outline

If you need to navigate past any branches in the way of your lineman belt during your climb, carefully follow these steps.

  1. Without disconnecting your lineman belt from the tree, you must set up a second connection to the tree for support while moving past the branch. Securely attach your tether above the branch.
  2. Once all of your weight is supported by the tether, unclip one side of your lineman belt and pass it over the branch.
  3. Wrap the lineman belt back around the tree trunk and secure it back onto your lineman loop with the carabiner. Make sure to secure the crew gate on the carabiner.
  4. Once your lineman belt is safely navigated around the branch and reconnected to your saddle, you can remove your tether and continue climbing the tree following normal climbing procedures.
  5. Repeat all of these steps again if you encounter another branch in your way before reaching your desired hunting height.
