Course Outline

It is critical that you understand how to safely use your chosen sporting arm—whether a bow, crossbow, or rifle. Elevated hunting requires more skill to follow safe handling and shooting procedures because operating above ground adds more risk. Make sure you follow all safe hunting procedures for your sporting arm and you practice thoroughly with your sporting arm before you go saddle hunting. You should be very comfortable with your sporting arm while operating in a saddle to keep you and others safe in the field.

Later in this unit, you will learn specific marksmanship guidelines for hunting in a saddle.
