Introduction to Elevated Hunting

Elevated hunting places a hunter above ground level using one of the following three methods:

• A tree stand placed in or against a tree
• A freestanding structure
• A hunting saddle

Elevated hunting systems have become increasingly popular in recent years with both firearm and bow hunters. Elevated hunting offers certain advantages. However, some disadvantages and a degree of risk exist.
