Course Outline

You must validate (notch) your tag and attach it to the carcass immediately after killing any big game animal or turkey. Ask your instructor at the field day to show you how to notch your tag correctly.

The tag must be attached to the carcass immediately after the animal is killed, and it must remain attached while you transport or store the animal. For deer or elk, tie the tag inside the ear or around the antler. For bear, attach the tag to the carcass, hide, or skull. Notch and tag animals immediately after they are killed.
