Additional Information for Big Game Permits

Permits for antelope, deer, elk, and mountain (bighorn) sheep are issued for use during a specific season, with specific hunting equipment, and in a specific area. Permits cannot be transferred, and permit fees are non-refundable.

Most big game permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. However, due to increased demand for some species in some areas, some permits are issued through drawings. These include all elk permits, all mountain (bighorn) sheep permits, some antelope permits, and deer permits in some areas. Since this information may change annually based on demand, refer to the Nebraska Big Game Guide.
