Michigan Hunter Safety Course and Exam

  • Take the $15 exam. Passing it is proof of home study, and lets you skip the classroom portion of your hunting safety training.

Michigan Hunting License Regulations

In order to purchase a Michigan hunting license, all hunters born on or after January 1, 1960 need a Hunter Safety Certificate. A Hunting Safety Certificate is earned by passing a hunter education course that is approved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

To qualify for any adult resident hunting or fur harvester license, you must:have a permanent residence in Michigan, be a full time student at a Michigan college or university, or serve full time in the U.S. Military and be officially stationed in Michigan.
