Types of Handguns
Handguns (revolvers and pistols) are short-barreled firearms. Hunting with handguns has been growing in popularity in recent years.
Single-Action Revolver: This type of handgun will fire only after the hammer has been cocked manually. It typically has a gate on the right side of the frame through which you load the cylinder, one chamber at a time.
Double-Action Revolver: Pulling the trigger both cocks and releases the hammer. Cylinders swing outward, exposing all chambers for loading.
Semi-Automatic Pistol: Pulling the trigger fires one shot, ejects the empty case, and reloads the chamber automatically. Rounds are stored in a magazine that is inserted in the grip or handle.
