Before you transport game in Missouri, be sure you use the correct permit (deer or turkey) and notch it immediately after verifying the animal is dead.
- If you are in immediate contact with the animal, you are not required to place the permit on the animal.
- If the animal is not in your immediate presence—you leave to go get help or a vehicle, or you have someone else transport the animal for you—you must place the permit on the animal.
- Keep deer and turkey intact (other than field dressing) until after you have telechecked your animal by phone or computer. Write your confirmation number in the space provided on your permit.
- You now may transport your game out of state, take it to a processor, or process it yourself.
