As in every human endeavor, there are gray areas of ethical behavior that come down to a matter of personal choice.
Examples of gray areas of ethical behavior, which are legal, are:
- Shooting turkey in a tree, quail or dove on the ground, or waterfowl on the water
- Taking long shots at game animals beyond the range where you have practiced and are proficient for an ethical quick, clean kill
- Taking rifle shots at running game, which produces a high number of wounded animals and dangerous misses
