3.5 Bolt Action Shotguns

Bolt Action: Bolt-action shotguns are strong and simple to use.

Bolt action
  • Lift the bolt handle up and pull it back to open the action.
  • To close the action, push the bolt handle forward and turn the bolt handle down. When the bolt is open, the shotgun cannot fire.

Most bolt-action shotguns are repeaters. That means they carry extra shotshells in a magazine. The job of the magazine is to hold extra ammunition. After the shotgun is fired, manually working the bolt ejects the empty hull and loads a fresh shotshell from the magazine.
