10.2 Basic First Aid

First aid is very similar to survival: Every hunter needs to know something about it.

You or a member of your hunting party should know first aid. First-aid classes are available throughout the state. Contact your local fire department, school, or county sheriff to learn where first-aid classes are available in your area.

The two types of first-aid situations that hunters should know about are:

Immediate Care Situations

Minor bleeding
Minor burns
Sprains

Life-Threatening Situations

Victim who is not breathing
Major loss of blood
Heart attack or stroke
