Locating and Signing Up for the Classroom Session

After passing the online portion of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Classroom Session.

To locate and sign up for the Classroom Session in your area, go to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website at http://www.register-ed.com/programs/60.

Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Classroom Session.

What To Expect at the Classroom Session

At the Classroom Session, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 6–8 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and Virginia’s Hunter Education Certification exam.

After attending and passing the Classroom Session portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Virginia Hunter Education Certificate.

Classroom Session Voucher

The Virginia Classroom Session Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement.

Virginia Hunter Education Certificate

The Virginia Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of Virginia. You will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries after successfully completing the Classroom Session.

Replacement

If you have already received the Virginia Hunter Education Certificate and need a replacement certificate, you can contact the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries at http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/education/.

To replace a lost or destroyed Classroom Session Voucher, log in to the course and print a new one.
