Locating and Signing Up for the Homestudy Class
After passing the online portion of Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Homestudy Class.
To locate and sign up for the Homestudy Class in your area, go to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department website at http://www.register-ed.com/programs/vermont/108-vermont-hunter-education-home-study.
Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Homestudy Class.
What To Expect at the Homestudy Class
At the Homestudy Class, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and Vermont’s Hunter Education Certification exam.
Important Bring your Vermont Homestudy Qualifier Certificate to the Homestudy Class as proof of having completed the online course.
After attending and passing the Homestudy Class portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Vermont Hunter Education Certificate.
Hunter Education Documents
- Homestudy Qualifier Certificate
- The Vermont Homestudy Qualifier Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Homestudy Qualifier Certificate at the Homestudy Class to gain admittance.
- Vermont Hunter Education Certificate
- The Vermont Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of Vermont. You will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department after successfully completing the Homestudy Class.

To replace a lost or destroyed Homestudy Qualifier Certificate, log in to the course and print a new one.
